Current and potential NIGP SEFL Co-op members are invited to experience the latest drone technology first-hand with on-site UAS live flight demos.
The live demonstrations include the use of UAVs to improve efficiencies for the following safety hazards:
- Search and Rescue (Visual/IR for land SAR & water SAR)
- Situational Awareness – Analyze Active Incident (Visual/IR – Structure fires, brush fires)
- Forensic Investigations (Post-Fire Documentation & Investigation)
- Hazardous Materials Emergencies (Standoff Recon of Response Hot Zones – Visual/IR)
This is your chance to see how drones work in active emergency demonstrations. Law enforcement can also utilize drones for active shooter and suspect pursuit, surveillance and crowd monitoring, forensic investigations like crime scenes and accident scene analysis, and bomb squad response.
KEY TOPIC AND LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Learn about disaster prepardness, response, and recovery strategies using drones and UAS technology.
Also learn how to incorporate UAS tactics into public safety and disaster response missions and grasp a better understanding of the complex regulatory and legal environments surrounding drones.
